Practical information
When you arrive at the airport, head to the check-in desks on the Departures side. Flights that are currently checking in are displayed above the desks along with the Airline’s logo, destination and take-off time.
For European nationals
Please note! Whatever your destination, check the procedures to follow for minors travelling without their parents, at least 1 month before departure, by contacting your local town hall or border police service (Tel: 0262 488 500).
National identity card or passport
In the European Union, Switzerland and the Departments and Territories of Overseas France (Mayotte, Nouméa).
Passport required
Elsewhere, please check the validity conditions that apply in your destination country at least 2 months before departure, as some countries require your passport to be valid for at least 6 months following your return.
For non-European and non-Swiss nationals
Passport required, check the conditions of entry for your destination country if this is different from the country you are travelling from.
People with disabilities or reduced mobility
All areas and facilities at the airport are designed to be easily accessible to people with disabilities or reduced mobility.

- Passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility are invited to contact the LAA company by calling 0262 488 370, visit the Reception and Information desk, or contact their airline directly to make arrangements for their arrival at the airport.
To make it easier to move through the airport (check-in and security checkpoints), take the time to prepare your luggage properly.
You can travel with hand luggage and check other luggage into the hold.
Do not wait to arrive at the airport to register hold luggage. Do it online when the airline offers the option!

Hand luggage
You can bring, free of charge and at your own risk, one item of luggage per person, with a recommended size (total of the three dimensions L + W + H) of 115 cm, and a maximum weight ranging from 5 to 10 kg depending on the airline and your ticket.
To ensure your luggage is ready for inspection and ensure a smooth passage through the airport checkpoints, please put in your hand luggage the strict minimum.
Pack in your hold luggage all liquids, gels, creams, pastes and aerosols that you want to bring with you, for food or cosmetic purposes, as well as all items prohibited in the cabin.
All prohibited items found during the security screening will be abandoned and thrown away by our security officers.
Prohibited items in cabin luggage
All liquids, aerosols or gels in containers above 100 ml are prohibited in the cabin bag, exceptions aside (those to be used during the trip for medical purposes or a special dietary requirement, including baby food, those bought airside of an airport or in flight in a sealed bag).
Security measures regarding liquids, aerosols and gels
Hold luggage
Only conventional luggage is checked-in at the check-in desk, please refer to the airline at least 48 h before departure for procedures relating to bulky luggage or luggage weighing more than 32 kg. Your checked-in luggage is carried in the hold free of charge up to a certain limit (weight or number depending on the airline) called a luggage allowance, which varies depending on the company and the type of ticket. Beyond that, you will need to pay a supplement for each extra kilogramme or additional item of luggage.
Attention! Follow the safety instructions on flammability and explosion hazards, shown on your ticket or displayed above the desk, and ensure that nothing is protruding from or attached to your luggage (flask, strap etc.) to avoid damage to your luggage.

Upon arrival, if your luggage has been lost or damaged, you can consult the airline’s local luggage service, either directly in the luggage delivery room, or by telephone:

To ensure a smooth passage through the airport security checkpoints, please be award of the following process:
- You will be invited to present your boarding pass by the security officer,
- You will be invited to take off your coats and jackets
- You will be invited to place your cabin luggage and other personal effects separately in thetrays put at your disposal:
- All metal objects (phone, keys, jewelry, belts…),
- All portable computers and other large electrical items (laptops, kindle, big cameras, DVD players…),
- Your transparent resealable 1 liter plastic bag containing your liquids, aerosols or gels of a capacity no greater than 100 ml,
- Your liquids, aerosols and gels of a capacity exceeding 100 ml
- You will be invited to go through the walk-through metal detector
Additional and/or random inspections can be carried out by the security officers, in accordance with the European regulations.

Check with the airline when booking, as there may be quotas depending on the flight, or restrictions depending on the destination (vaccinations, quarantine etc.).
In the cabin: weight < 5kg
In a cage specially designed for animals not exceeding 5 kg (birds, cats, dogs), subject to the legislation in force in the country of destination.
In the hold
In a cage designed for animals exceeding 5 kg. The price is generally the same as the luggage supplement. There is usually no charge for pets travelling in the cabin and disabled passengers’ guide dogs travelling in the hold.
Duty-free sales are available in the shops in the customs area, for all destinations.
There are limits on the amount (tobacco, alcohol, perfume etc.) and value of the goods you can buy, check with the sales assistants at the sales outlets.
Warning!
For personal effects admitted without requiring any special procedures (camcorder, bicycle etc.), passengers should bring proof of ownership in order to avoid any inconvenience upon their return. A free circulation card may be issued by the customs office on presentation of the documents of origin.
Currency
French law places no limit on the amount you can carry. However, whether you are a resident of France or not, you must declare to French customs any sum of money, bonds or securities with a value of €10,000 or more at the borders of the European Union, since 15 June 2007.
Counterfeits
Importing into France, exporting or simply owning any counterfeit object, even for personal use, is prohibited by French law (confiscation of the goods, customs fines, prosecution).
Special procedures
Certain goods are subject to special provisions upon entering or exiting from a country of the European Union.
These include:
- weapons and ammunition,
- cultural property,
- protected wild plant and animal species and products derived from these,
- live animals and animal products, - plants and plant products,
- medicines and medical products (except for personal use),
- wine, alcoholic drinks, tobacco and other regulated products.

Children aged 4 to 12
Children may travel alone as UM passengers UM (Unaccompanied Minors), providing they suffer from no major disabilities.
All scheduled airlines departing from the airport offer a free UM assistance service.
At the airport of departure, during check-in the child will be given a special UM package to keep during the trip. It will contain their ticket and identity papers (for domestic flights, a passport or identity document with exit permission issued by the prefecture, and a passport for international flights), parental leave, and an identification card containing details of the person who will be meeting them at the airport of arrival. This person must be in possession of an identity document to meet the child.
Check-in for unaccompanied children
Follow the instructions given by the airline at the time of booking.
Children over 12
For children over 12 travelling alone, the company does not provide legal custody. It will nevertheless make every effort to assist them in the event of any difficulties. Some airlines may offer additional assistance in exchange for a fee.
Children aged 15 must carry an identity document or individual passport.
Incoming travel agencies
To help organise your stay in Reunion, the airport’s incoming travel agencies are open 7 days a week (booking required) to welcome you as soon as you arrive.

For certain destinations, the health authorities require you to present your vaccination record before allowing entry. This is the case for the countries of Africa, South and Central America, and Asia.
