Transport conditions
The transport of a deceased person by air is subject to rules and regulations.
For example, for any journey of more than 600 km, it is compulsory to use formaldehyde injections and to opt for committal in an airtight coffin with a thickness of more than 2.2 cm. This airtight coffin has a thin, cold-welded, watertight metal layer that is placed inside the wooden coffin to ensure compliance with the relevant health measures.
What is committal?
Committal involves placing the body of a deceased person in an airtight bag before placing it in a coffin. This step is carried out by undertakers.

Administrative and tax formalities
Only after the coffin has been sealed by state authorities can it pass through customs and be allowed to be loaded onto an aircraft.
The coffin will then be permanently closed before being transported by air.
