Health measures within the terminal buildings

Airport Health Accreditation - ACI Aéroport de La Réunion Roland Garros

To ensure that you can travel with complete peace of mind, the airport has put in place heightened health measures within the terminal buildings.
Roland Garros Airport is the first airport in France’s Overseas Departments and the fourth French airport to obtain the Airport Health Accreditation, a qualification that certifies the effectiveness of health measures put in place throughout the airport in order to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Caméra thermique

Seeking to strengthen existing health protection measures, Reunion's Roland Garros airport was equipped with thermal cameras, which were activated immediately upon their arrival on September 23rd.

This equipment detects body temperatures of over 38°C in people being scanned. Two cameras have been positioned at the exit of the baggage claim area. Anyone who triggers an alert is given a forehead temperature reading or, if they have symptoms, are recommended to consult a doctor.

No personal data is collected during these scans and no recordings are made by the cameras. Thanks to signs, passengers are informed in advance of the presence of these cameras and temperature checks.

Since 4th of April, Masks aren’t compulsory in the airport. Masks are recommended for frail people and if Social distancing isn’t possible in the terminal.

Screening and sequencing of passengers entering the terminal

Passengers are asked to maintain a physical distance of at least one metre (indicated by signs) when queuing at check-in counters, before police and cabin baggage checks, in the departures lounge, during boarding, when leaving the aircraft and in the baggage delivery area.

Distributeur de gel hydro-alcoolique

In order to allow passengers to travel with peace of mind, the level of sanitary measures has been increased across all areas used by passengers.

Plexiglas screens have been installed at check-in counters, boarding counters and courtesy areas at reception desks.

From the public concourse to the boarding bridges, automatic dispensers of hydro-alcoholic gels are available to passengers.

All staff working on the airport premises, both in the passenger and cargo terminals, are equipped with masks to ensure protection for everyone.

Dedicated members of airport staff are also present in the terminal buildings during departures and arrivals of each flight in order to answer questions and guide travellers.

In shops and restaurants, markings on the floor are provided to ensure that people respect a physical distance of more than one metre; counters are also equipped with Plexiglas windows and sales advisers are equipped with visors and masks.

Nettoyage aérogare spécial Covid 19

New means have been deployed to ensure the hygiene of all areas and facilities.

Cleaning has been increased, and all contact surfaces are regularly disinfected using a virucide product.

A team of cleaning staff is dedicated to disinfecting at-risk areas and surfaces throughout all areas used by passengers: on arrival and departure of each flight, at car park pay stations, check-in desks, terminal seats, lifts, e-gates, border police booths, cabin baggage drop-off bins, departure lounge seats, toilets and trolleys.
