Cargo

The cargo terminal, built in 2002, offers a high quality service based on a European-standard Border Inspection Post, high-performance tools and the expertise of its 49 full-time employees. Traffic dominated by imports Accommodating five airline companies and around thirty freight forwarders, the terminal handles every year almost 30 000 tonnes of freight, in collaboration with French customs and veterinary and plant protection services. Its approval as a regulated agent with regard to air transport security and its status as a bonded warehouse, make it an efficient partner for many companies, both for imports as well as exports. The cargo terminal is thereby a support tool for Reunion Island’s export sectors (fruit and fish). The cargo terminal is approved for the imports of all animals other than equines and ungulates, with quarantine facilities for animals from non-European Union countries. The terminal also handles all departing airmail freight and part of the incoming airmail freight.
